Glitter Bomb!!!!

So yesterday I was sooo bored and couldn't sit still - I've done my nails several times now and I want to get the feel of doing other peoples nails because believe it or not it is more complicated especially being a lefty!

The rain came down and boredom kicked in so snatched my daughter up after Love and Hip Hop Atlanta went off and told her to remove her polish so that I can start getting my practice in.  I wanted to try a elaborate design but time (9:50pm) was escaping from me and my mornings start at 4am on Tuesdays so I had to opt for something simple yet colorful.
Products used:

  • Sally Hansen Complete Manicure - Get Juiced (color 400)
  • Sinful Colors - Shine On Me
  • Multicolor glitter pot in Pink and Purple
  • Pink Rhinestones
  • Top Coat
  • Cuticle Oil

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

I am sooo in love with this polish. I believe I used 2-1/2 coats. I was bored and trying to decide on a nail color and wanted a backup just in case I didn't have time to do a full manicure. This is the perfect combo of subtle bling and clear polish. It also reminds me of snowflakes. Oh yeah I'm blogging from my phone..forgive me lol!!!!

I LOVE GARRETTS!!!!!

Cheese and Caramel  - Caramel and Cheese...buy me some Garrett's please, please, please!!!!!

So apparently i'm really late because I had no idea until recently that we had a Garrett's Popcorn Shop on the south side of Chicago located at 87th Cottage Grove so to celebrate my popcorn fetish - The Chicago Mix I polished my daughters nails orange and gold.  I didn't like the color combination to much at first but it grew on me.

The colors I used were as follow:

  • SinfulColors - All About You #921
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Sun Kissed #150

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails - Ice Queen #840

So I couldn't find what I was looking for at my local Walgreens but this simple glitter polish made me feel a little better...and the price wasn't bad either @ $1.99

Ice Queen is a really pretty clear base polish with micro silver glitter and blue and purple hex glitter.

  • On my thumb (right) I placed two coats of polish to get a feel for the coverage.  The silver micro glitter gave a nice coating for only two coats. The larger chunks of blue and purple were sparsely placed using the nail brush.
  • On my index finger I used one coat of Wet n Wild Shine Black Creme (424A).  This is an excellent polish providing nice coverage - it definitely competes with some of the more popular brands and provides great shine.  I purchased this polish a couple of months ago due to the rave reviews it received from various blogs I frequent - and can you believe it was only a $1.00 at my local Walgreens.  I used one coat of Ice Queen and loved how well all the glitter showed up...reminds me of the galaxy...LOL!
I will definitely be using this polish mostly for layering.  I did not use a top coat on either nail simply because I was only swatching two nails, overall I am content with my purchase and give it two thumbs up and looking forward to pairing it with various colors complimentary to the hex glitter.
